Our new topic is Farming and we have been learning about Diversification. We worked in groups and created advertisements for how some farms may diversify. Some children advertised a beef farm that diversifies into how the farmer rears his animals, providing a tour and also created a new play park for children.

Yesterday, we also watched a sale at Lanark Market. Texel and Beltex sheep were for sale. We watched how the auctioneer sells the sheep and discussed the difference between commission, private selling and what ‘luckpenny insurance’ is. We all had super questions to ask and it was great to see how the market runs within the current restrictions.

What did the children have to say this week:

"I've learnt how to multiply and divide by 10, 100 and 1,000." (Jodie)

"I've learnt how to solve equivalent fractions." (Ellie M.)

"I've learnt how to do my times tables better." (Lilly)

"I've learnt to never judge anyone and have fun." (Ewan)
