Hi again everyone,

How are you all coping? I bet you’ve been enjoying the glorious summer weather, well until today, I know I did. And being able to visit friends and family, while still social distancing is so lovely after weeks of no contact.

But we have to still stay at home, most of the time, and be very careful when we do go out. And that requires patience, as does home schooling I’m sure.

I wonder if any of you gave prayer a go? I was once at a church meeting where we were asked if we had any prayer requests. I was going through chemotherapy at the time, and whispered to my friend, “I need patience”. He then stood up and announced in a loud voice “Elspeth wants patience, and she wants it NOW!”

The Bible tells us that “patience is better than pride”, it lists patience as one of the ‘fruit of the Spirit’, and of course in the favourite wedding verses from 1 Corinthians 13, we read “4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.”

Nowhere does it say that patience is easy, because it’s not, but I will be praying that you find some patience when you least expect it. Try simply stopping and taking a deep breath, that can provide a moment of patience.

Love and blessings to you all from
