Good morning to all our Forth families

Can you believe it is already the last week in April? As we all try to stay as safe as possible and stay home, we cannot but help reflect on the people and places we are dearly missing.

Last week we had the privilege to support key worker families in the hub within St Athanasius Primary in Carluke. Throughout the week myself and several of our staff team met new children, parents and carers. The commitment, enthusiasm and positivity of our staff team was commendable. It was a different week for us all. There was a tinge of sadness as the week went on, as it was evident, we were missing our Forth children and families, but we know we will be together again as soon as we possibly can.

Many of our Mums, Dads, Grandads, Grandmas, Aunts and Uncles etc. are key workers working incredibly hard serving, caring and supporting communities during this difficult time. We recognise the important work they are undertaking and are so grateful, thank you.

As we start a new week, I would encourage you to remember we are all in this together. Reach out if you need support or help, you are not alone. There is our school online support form as well as the Forth Development Trust food exchange where you can collect or donate food stuff and toiletries. It is open from 12 - 2pm every weekday and based at the Sports Centre. Additional support information can be found under the news section.

There is no doubt that as time goes on, trying to keep children engaged is not easy. Teachers continue to upload optional activities on class Teams, it is lovely to see so many pupils communicating with their teacher and peers. There are also some new optional art, STEM and exercise suggestions under the news section too. We appreciate that parents and carers are juggling so many things, so remember only do what you and your child/children find manageable.

If you have made a request for IT etc. your information will be passed onto South Lanarkshire Council and they will be in touch in due course.

Although we are apart, we are still very much together.

Take care and stay safe Forth Family,

Mrs Wood
