It has been a busy few weeks in P1. We had White Watch from Lanark fire station visiting to talk about the jobs they do and to show the class some of the tools and equipment on their appliance. They also explained why it is important to check your smoke detectors, what number to call in an emergency and what to do if clothing catches fire..... stop, drop and roll.

We also had the author Rachel McGaw visit us to read a couple of her books and to tell us all about being an author. She told us where she gets her ideas from and how she goes about writing her books.

As part of our People Who Help Us topic we have a doctor's clinic and an opticians in the class. Pupils have been exploring these roles through play and have been having great fun .

Valentine's fun and pancakes were also highlights of the last couple of weeks. P1 was very grateful to Karen from the church who came and made the pancakes with us.
