A small group of Primary 5 and 6 children had great fun when they attended a block of workshops at Equitots in Carluke.
The learned how to approach a horse safely, fit a halter and lead the horse out if its stable and then groom the horse to check that it is healthy and happy. The group worked with Violet and Lotty who were small Welsh ponies and once they were confident enough with them, they led the hourses around an obstacle course in the arena.
This was an opportunity where all the children in the group demonstrated that they were Confident Individuals and Responsible Citizens.
