Last week, Primary 7 started their new science topic: Forces. We conducted lots of experiments to test out our hypotheses related to forces. We used balls and chanelling materials to assess how different variables affect the way in which balls move. We discovered that external forces, textures, impacts, friction, angles, size and weight were all factors that contribute to the movement of something.
We were then tasked with the challenge of creating an object that moved when faced with a push force: wind. Working in teams, pupils designed, made and then tested their products and their effectiveness.
Aaron - We learned what a hypothesis is and that friction slows something down.
Zac - It was lots of fun learning about forces.
Aiden - I learned that balls can gather momentum which can keep them moving for longer.
Julie - Push and pull are the two main forces.
Lily - Twist is when something is being pushed and pulled. (Just like Bop It! - Ethan)
