This week P1 have been reading, The Gruffalo, by Julia Donaldson.
At the start of the week we discussed how the different characters were feeling throughout the story by looking at picture clues and discussing the situations in the story. We also talked about times that we felt happy 😁, scared 😲or nervous😕.
Later in the week we used our listening, concentration and pencil control skills to draw detailed pictures of the gruffalo then colour parts of the gruffalo the correct colours. We had to make sure his eyes were orange, his tounge black and his prickles had to be purple on his back.... Oh, and we didn't forget his green poisonous wart on the end of his nose!
At the end of the week we completed an art task and made our own Gruffalos. The children all did a wonderful job 👍. They made sure that they remembered all of the important parts by talking to each other, using picture clues and listening brilliantly to instructions.
What a super start to P1, Mrs Andrews is very proud of you all 🤩!
