Primary 7 have spent this week learning all about limericks. We analysed popular limericks to identify the rhyming patterns, beats and syllable counts of a standard limerick poem.

Once we identified the success criteria we had a go at writing our own limericks using spooky characters as our context. We then redrafted them onto headstones as epitaphs for our unfortunate characters. We've had some of the other teachers crying with laughter at how funny they turned out!

Throughout this week we have also been working on our wellbeing scarecrow as part of the nursery competition that they hosted. Our well-being indicator was 'responsible'. We decided to name our scarecrow 'Responsi-Bill' and designed him to encourage others to be responsible in looking after our school and environment.
