Good Morning All,

This week sees Mrs Wood and many of our staff members helping out at our local hubs in Carluke and Carnwath. This may mean our teachers are not visiting their teams sites as frequently due to commitments with other children. However, as usual we would encourage you to continue to engage with the activities that are being set on our Microsoft Teams through Glow each Monday. It has been a delight to see the manner in which children have been keeping busy and sharing their experiences in these very trying times.

Should you not have access to Teams yet, please fill out the form contained within the link below and we will endeavour quickly to share forgotten usernames and passwords. Similarly if you have a technical issue accessing your child's team or if you'd like to talk to someone about another issue please let us know.

Within the news section I have uploaded some links that I would ask you to check out. These include;

1)  Education Scotland 'Scotland Learns' newsletter. This weekly newsletter has ideas, hints and tips for parents and carers, including activities that children can do on their own at home or families can do together.

2)  National Literacy Trust 'Family Zone'. Here you will find ideas and guidance for fun, simple activities that will engage your children at home, while also benefiting their reading, writing and language development.

3) Go Science. Particular focus here on encouraging girls to participate more in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) activities. However anyone can take part in the super experiments contained within the website.

4) Able to Learn. This is a superb free site with a range of resources for children who have additional support needs. They also have a range of excellent range of social stories and mental health activities that can be shared with children.

5) Mr Thomson's Building Blocks challenge. I'll be posting a link where I'd love children to share their experiences of using building blocks of any kind to create their own models and share these within their teams.

Mrs Wood, Mrs Roberts and myself will be continuing to call our families, checking in with you and offering support where we can.

Stay safe and take care.

Mr Thomson
