This week we have joined the school focus on STEM week (Science, technology, engineering and mathematics). We visited the Honda shop, to explore mechanical features of quad bikes. We had a tour of the shop, looking at the differences between motorbikes and quad bikes, the children had the opportunity to look at the engine and learn the names of different parts of the quad bike. Each child was invited to try on a helmet, sit on the quad, turn the key, flash the front lights, brake lights and peep the horn. Brian demonstrated how to remove the wheel in order to change a tyre, the children were then given the opportunity to use the tools and remove a nut from the wheel.
