This is what the children have been playing with, learning about and exploring in the following areas:
Outdoors: We were exploring numbers and sizes with natural resources. Also outside we were working on our gross motor skills, using the climbing frame, doing obstacle courses and the parachute.
Literacy: We explored Remembrance Day, developed our vocabulary with new words, Poppy, soldier, medal, and safe. We created our own poppy wreath and visited our local war memorial.
Creative: We have been exploring and learning about Remembrance Day. Creating poppies with playdough and vegetable printing. We have also looked at army soldiers and camouflage print.
Construction and Small world: We have been exploring different provocation pictures to create a variety of structures, models and statues. We have been developing our mathematical language by comparing the size and shape of our creations.
Role Play: We have been exploring Remembrance Day through role play, we created a soldiers camp and tank and we even had the opportunity to try on a real soldiers uniform.
STEM: Discovering forces, developing mathematical language through exploring various tragetory objects.
