This is what the nursery children have been playing with, learning about and exploring in the following areas:

Literacy: We have been exploring various stories this week.  We have been retelling the stories and learning about the author, illustrator and their roles.

Creative: We have been developing our fine motor skills and hand eye coordination through various activities including, penguin iceberg balancing game, play dough tools and creating our own pipe cleaner monsters.

Outdoors: We have created our own obstacle course using benches, crates, wood cookies and a picnic table. We manoeuvred our bodies across the obstacles by climbing, jumping, hopping and balancing. We explored mathematical language while using the wheeled toys, moving around the 'pond', under the rope and over the 'wiggly line'.

Maths/STEM:  This week we have explored measurement using non standard units. We used the mega blocks to count how many blocks, the children also made their own buildings and counted how many blocks each used. We played a game on the c-touch comparing sizes.

Snack: This week in the snack we have been discovering our different likes and dislikes of healthy foods. We gathered our findings to create a visual overview or our preferences.

Don’t forget to check your child’s learning journals for some more insights into their learning in nursery.

Have a lovely long weekend.
