PLAYING & LEARNING TOGETHER WITH KINDNESS & RESPECT

This is what the nursery children have been playing with, learning about and exploring in the following areas:

Literacy: We have been learning and exploring rhyme through singing nursery rhymes, matching rhyming cards as well as rhyming I spy. We have also explored numbers 0-10, number formation and what rhymes with numbers.

Math/STEM: We have continued to explore magnets, extending our learning from last week. We made magnetic puppets, tried magnetic mazes and made sensory magnetic bottles. We have discussed forces and how they work.

Creative: We have explored a variety of activities relating to our five senses, sounds game, mystery touch bag, smell test, watercolour experiment and a taste test. We are learning to recognise our senses as sight, sound, smell, hearing, and touch, and identify the body parts that go along with them.

Outdoors: We have used our learning space in the poly tunnel. We have explored the climbing frame and construction.

Construction/Small World: The children have used their imagination to create homes and enclosures for different size animals.

Snack: We have focused on the importance of oral hygiene in preparation of our up coming Childsmile visit. We discussed healthy and unhealthy foods and drinks for our teeth and practiced our brushing techniques through tooth brushing activities.

Don’t forget to check your child’s learning journals for some more insights into their learning in nursery.

Have a lovely weekend.
