P4/5 have continued looking at STEM this week (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
We learned about chemical reactions when bicarbonate of soda was added to vinegar and when water was added to cornflour to make gloop. The first created a reaction like a volcano and in the second when we put our fingers in the gloop, it was liquid, but when we hit it, it was a solid. Amazing!
We loved creating free standing newspaper towers today to see who could make the tallest with a certain amount of paper. We worked together, discussing our ideas and the results were very impressive!
We have thoroughly enjoyed all the STEM work and will continue with it in the weeks ahead.
