Parent Consultation Phonecalls

Dear Parent/Carer,

Due to the ongoing restrictions regarding visitors entering our school building we have had to change the way that we normally report on your child’s progress through face to face meetings. In the interest of keeping everyone safe we have decided to arrange for these meetings with your child’s classroom teacher to take place via a telephone conversation.

These meetings will last 7 minutes long and will take place within a 30 minute time window. We would ask that you would be available at this time slot, however should this not be possible we will be happy to arrange another time that would be more convenient. Please also note that if you miss the timeslot it will not be possible to call back on that day. Furthermore, the phonecall will register as a 'withheld' number on your mobile, so please make sure you do not dismiss this as an unsolicited call.

From a school perspective, we are constrained by only having 2 phone lines, meaning that we have had to split the calls, by class, over a number of afternoons. You child will receive a sticker tomorrow (Tuesday 27th October) with their timeslot. These will take place over the week of Monday 2nd until Thursday 5th November. All calls will be made between 3.20pm and 5.30pm.

Unfortunately, we are not able to co-ordinate phonecalls for sibling groups as we would normally do so for face to face meetings. This may mean that some of our phone calls to our families may take place over different evenings.

When your child’s teacher does phone, the purpose of the meeting will be to update you on your child's progress within the 3 core areas of literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing.

You will appreciate that teachers may not have the time to discuss other concerns. If needs be, an additional appointment can be made.

We thank you for your support and flexibility at this time.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Suzie Wood
