Primary 1 use the resource Foundations of Writing, to help develop the physical strength and fine motor skills required to form letters and write well. It also encourages detailed black pen drawings to support our writing topic. We looked at Sparklers, and the importance of keeping safe and protecting our hands. We put gloves on and used sticks at a distance from our bodies as sparklers in the classroom. Our writing focused on the phrase, wear gloves when holding sparklers and our end results were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. We then listened to the story, Sparks in the Sky, that highlighted this important phrase through picture and words.
On Thursday when you receive the Bookbug Bags, there will be a Sparkler inside for your child to share the experience with you at home. Please ensure they wear gloves to stay safe.
