This week Primary 2 have been doing lots of different activities. We've been practicing our 'ck' sound in class this week and practicing our common words. In maths, we started off the week looking at estimating by filling tubs for our friends and asking them to estimate how many items we had and then checking together. We've now started to move on to counting in twos, and we've been doing marches and songs to help us count up. We then made our own washing lines and hung pairs of socks on them to help us remember how we can count in twos. Here are some of our comments from this week.
"Counting in twos helps us to save time so we don't have to count everything"- Eva.
"Estimating is hard because you're not sure how many you've got"- Harley.
"You don't have to get the estimate exactly right as long as you're close"- Harry.
"I know the 'ck' sound because it's in my name!" -Jackson.
We have a number of unclaimed jumpers in class, so can I please remind parents to ensure these items have names on.
