This week we have been learning about different types of jobs. We had a visit from a farmer, a vet and someone from Levenseat to tell us what their jobs are like. We also had a quantity surveyor in the class and we learned how we can use our maths measuring skills in real life. Wednesday was National Numeracy Day so we drew pictures of what we would like to be when we’re older and thought about how we would use numbers in our jobs.
  • Zoey: “I would like to be a marine biologist when I grow up and I need to figure out how to measure different types of food for the fish.”
  • Connor: “I would like to be a boxer and I would need to think about much time I have in the ring.”
  • Anya: “I would like to be a childminder and I would need to know how much milk to give the children so they don’t get too much or not enough.”
  • Max: “I would like to be a mechanic so I would need to know how much equipment I would need to order.”
  • Kai: “I would like be a police officer and I would need to know how many people I arrest and how much fuel I’d need for my car.”
  • Cerys: “I would like to be a nursery teacher and I’d need to know how many children there are.”
