As it is Book Week this week, P1/2 discussed the purpose of books. We talked about how they can tell a story, make you think, make you laugh and also how they can help you learn facts. These type of books are called non-fiction books.

We accessed some non-fiction books and read from the internet to help us learn all about sharks today. We were very interested in Great White sharks and, the now extinct, Megladon shark! Through our research, we discovered that Great Whites can grow up to 6 metres long, the same length as our line we made. However, Megladons could grow up to 18 metres! That means they were bigger than both the P1 and P1/2 classes put together.

We looked at how big the Megladon's teeth were and even managed to link our learning to one of our favourite fiction books about pilot fish, who help to clean a shark's teeth!

Outstanding learning from P1/2 today! We can't wait to explore our new Book Bug bags throughout the rest of the week.
