Katie Morag sent Primary 1 some Stem challenges this week. They were challenged to:
1.Create a plant for Grandma Mainland, ensuring that it had all of the correct parts - stem, flower, leaves and roots.
2. To make a bridge strong enough for Katie to cross the river.
3.  To make a boat for Katie To cross the water and visit her grandma.

The children were provided with a variety of resources and had to design and create and test their creations. They had to solve problems, find ways to connect the items, ensure that they included all the important parts, test their designs and see if they worked and communicate with each other to share ideas and successes. We were very proud of their creations and the children were too.
'My plant has all the right bits... the stem, the pretty flower, the leaves and the roots.' Charlie

'My boat is sealed at the bottom now with tape so the water doesn't get in nd make it sink.' Archie

'I put sides on my bridge because Katie kept falling off. She stays on now.' Noah
