Team 3/4 have been getting into the Christmas spirit this week.
Literacy
We have been continuing our dictionary using skills but with a Christmas twist!
We have been doing Christmas related spelling tasks.
Our ICT this week was a challenge to find out about myths and facts about Christmas traditions.
We listened to an audio recording of the Nativity Story.
Our reading comprehension was all based around Christmas stories, and today we are going to write letters to the big man
Maths and Numeracy
As part of our multiplication and division topic, we have been working on understanding word problems. Some of the children had a go at making their own word problems.
Jackson: If 50 toys were shared into 25 stockings, how many toys would there be in each stocking?
Teigan: If Santa has 8 Reindeers and 32 carrots, how many would they get each?
HWB
Ahead of our Christmas service, the children also talked about what Christmas means to them. Of course it's about getting new toys... but I was quite moved at some of the responses from P3/4, they are such a kind and considerate bunch.
Jake: Christmas means to me... sharing a meal on Christmas day with my family.
Lily: Christmas means to me... caring for each other.
Alicia: Christmas means to me... giving presents to others.
Remember the festive fun continues next week with our Panto on Monday morning, the film on Monday afternoon and our class party on Friday afternoon with lots more in between. Have a lovely weekend everyone!
