Good morningΒ

I hope everyone has managed to rest over the long weekend in some form or fashion. As time goes on it is getting harder to focus on the positives. Following the announcement from the Scottish government last week, we now know a rough plan of how lockdown will be lifted. There is no doubt there are currently more questions than answers. I am keen to reassure parents and carers that we have a first class team to support you, your child/children and your family as we start to enter the next phase.

Transition - There are a number of transition activities that are happening in the coming weeks. Our new Primary 1 children will be receiving a special delivery soon. I wonder what it could be. Thanks to Miss Dunlop, the Leaver's hoodies have been ordered. We look forward to these arriving and the children receiving them.

Resources / IT support - All requests made have been passed onto South Lanarkshire headquarters and they will be in touch as soon as they can. At the end of the week, I will have brief access to the school so I will put more resources into the Co-op.Β

A highlight already this week for me, is watching the Lego challenge video created by Mr Thomson. Well done to all the pupils who created many fantastic creatures. You are all most definitely awesome.

Under the news section I have included a couple of links that parents and carers may wish to explore. I appreciate as time goes on it is becoming harder to engage and motivate the children, especially when the weather is warm and sunny. Please do remember that you should do what learning is right for you and your family.

I would like to finish my update by thanking all the staff who volunteered at the Carluke Hub last week, all the parents and carers of keyworkers have been so appreciative. It was a very successful but exhausting week! Also, I would like to thank the staff who are supporting families/learners over the phone and online across the nursery and school. We have a very strong staff team who work extremely well together. This is something I certainly do not take for granted, thank you.Β

Let us all take it a day at a time. Stay safe and take care,

Mrs WoodΒ
