Good morning

I hope everyone is keeping well. Over the weekend the sun has been shining but I am aware that more and more, the frustrations and restrictions of self-isolation and lockdown are becoming harder as time goes on. We are in times of such uncertainty and the unknown. One thing I am certain of is the warm welcome that will be waiting for all our children and families when the school re-opens.

Looking through the online class Teams, I have been so impressed and proud of all the boys and girls. There are many heart-warming messages between the children and their teachers as well as fantastic hard work and efforts in learning tasks too. It is so encouraging to see families doing what is right for them. It is impressive to see the creativity of your activities too. As well as learning on Teams, set by the teacher, I have added some optional ideas on the app. These are non screen activities, Spanish activities and number talks information. Sometimes giving options and choice of tasks to a young person can help with motivation. Hopefully, we can continue to get more and more classmates to join in with Teams too.

Last week Mr Thompson and I spoke to several families and staff. There is no doubt that during these extraordinary times, emotions are running high, understandably so. Days seem to be merging into each other and getting ourselves, let alone our children motivated can be hard. Below there is an Apache blessing that seems appropriate as we enter the month of May.

We must remember that this period will not last forever. We will find our way in our changing world, but we will be back together as soon as we can be. There will be voices in the classrooms, chatter in the corridors, laughter in the playground and bells in the air.

So, hang in there, we are in this together, even if you feel alone, all you can do is your best for now, stay safe and stay home.

Be kind to yourself this week.

Take care,

Mrs Wood
