Primary 7 have had a fantastic week delving into the depths of our new history topic 'World War 2'. We have explored why the war started, and listened to a recording of the radio broadcast that Neville Chamberlain sent to the nation when he declared war.

Today we focused on the process of evacuation. We learned about why and how it happened and looked at real letters that were written by evacuated children in WW2. Using hotseating, we tried to put ourselves into the shoes of an evacuated child and responded to questions from our peers.

We had the opportunity to try on gas masks and then started planning our imaginative 'Letters to Home' by applying the knowledge we had gained through our exploration of the evacuation process.

It was an emotional but very worthwhile experience and Primary 7 were FANTASTIC!

Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Clowes
