Good afternoon,

We are thinking of all our families as we embark on another lockdown and want to reassure the community that the school team are here to support you, as much as we possibly can.

Following the First Minister's statement, we will begin remote learning online for all pupils from Monday 11 January. This means that each day your child's teacher will be online for set times, providing lessons and activities in literacy, numeracy and health & wellbeing. Therefore, there will be more daily interactions with teachers than the previous Lockdown. There will also be tasks set, some on a weekly basis, and some on a daily basis. This will hopefully help parents plan ahead.

Over the next 2 days, information will be posted on the app giving parents all the details and updates required, as well as a reminder on how to access Glow & Microsoft Teams.

There will also be a groupcall text sent out to every child's parent, with a reminder of your child's Glow log-in etc. that is required to access your child's team and their class teacher during the remote learning period.

In the meantime, I have attached a parent guide (click link at bottom of post)  that sets out the differences between home learning (homework), blended learning and remote learning. You will see it is a learning community wide approach for all the primary schools within the Carluke Cluster.

In order to identify any supports required, a support request online form will be posted on the app soon.

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we finalise our plans for remote learning to begin on Monday.

Kind regards,

Mrs Wood
