πŸ‘»πŸ¦‡πŸŽƒThe Halloween theme has been running through lots of our learning this week.πŸŽƒπŸ¦‡πŸ‘»

We read lots of spooky stories and discussed how the characters were feeling using our Emotion Works vocabulary. One of the stories we read was 'Wanda's First Day', a story about a witch starting school. She didn't look like the others in school and she did not feel like she fitted in. But as the story went on we discovered that it was OK to be different.Β  We used our imaginations and creativity to make some crazy new packed lunch ideas for Wanda to take to school.Β

'I have made a worm sandwich and spider juice.'Β
'Mine is a doughnut with slime and sprinkles.'

Also this week we enjoyed watching the authors live event on BBC. We enjoyed the Scots version of Room on the Broom and a traditional tale too.Β

We have also been learning about how to create a sentence and had a go at using some of our common words and halloween wordbanks to give it a go. πŸ¦‡πŸŽƒπŸ•·οΈπŸŒŸ

Creativity and problem solving skills were used when we made new homes for the ghosts and spiders out of loose parts. πŸ‘»πŸ•·οΈ

We also had to use our careful ball control skills and team work to make sure we didn't wake the skeletons hiding in the cone houses during our PE lesson. πŸ‘»πŸ€«
