This is what the nursery children have been playing with, learning about and exploring in the following areas:

Literacy: We have been creating Mother’s Day cards, learning to express our love using words and letter formation to write our names.

Maths/STEM: The children have been learning about symmetry. We have used mirrors to explore symmetrical properties of shapes and played gams on the C-touch.

Creative: We have explored the story of ‘Aliens love underpants’, looking at patterns. We used patterns to create our own underpants, we also created our aliens using playdough and collage materials.

Outdoors: We have continued to enjoy the our new garden area using the bikes. We created our own McDonalds drive thru, using real life experiences to order and pay whilst preparing food to serve the customers.

Role Play: We have exlpored our role play doctors surgery. We have used bandages, plasters, tweezers and syringes. We are learning how a doctor/nurse helps us. We also looked at X-rays, height and body parts.

Construction/Small world: We have been looking at spring- constructing farms and looking at different animals. We have been developing our knowledge of spring baby animals.

Don’t forget to check your child’s learning journals for some more insights into their learning in nursery.

Have a lovely weekend
