P1 have been planting and exploring thier senses this week.

First we talked about what seeds and plants need to grow.
'We need to water it.' Dylan
'We need seeds too.' Lucy
'They need light next to the window... The sun.' Harley.

Then we popped some soaked butter beans into clewar tubs and clear plastic pockets in the hope that we see the roots and shoots appear. We will keep you up to date with our progress 😁🤞🌱.

Also this week we have been trying to find out some answers to questions that we had about our bodies and how they work. As part of that we have been exploring our senses. We have carried out smell and touch  experiments so far. We discovered that P1's sense of smell was pretty good! Most were able to identify lemon, coffee, orange and perfume. Some were liked more than others 😜.
'I don't like that one! ' Lily Rh
'It smells like cappuccino.' Ollie

When we found that it was difficult to only rely on our sense of touch when trying to identify an object. It did provide opportunities to use lots of adjectives as we described what we could feel.
'It is smooth and has a metal bit.' Bobbi (clothes peg)
'It is bumpy and hard. The bumpy bits are smooth round bits.' (string of beads)
